- In the last few weeks we worked hard to realise the new Research & Development laboratory. Most striking is the new computer controlled testrig for testing windows, doors and façades on air permeability, water tightness, resistance to wind load. Samples up to 5.5 x 6.0 (wxh) can be tested. The pressure and spraying systems are according to both the European test methods EN 13830 & EN 14351-1 and the British CWCT Sequence A. The testrig is used for product development and quality control.
- Oskomera has been selected out of 32 entries for a energy saving solution for the new building of RAI Amsterdam. Oskomera proposes a wooden solar façade. Together with four other parties Oskomera is invited to explain this idea. In the first quarter of 2012 the jury will decide who the winner will be and this solution will be added to the specifications of this new building. (Source: Cobouw)
- A joint development by three partners - Vetrotech, Reynaers and Oskomera – has produced a spectacular result: namely a DRL curtain wall with 30 minutes of fire resistance in the classes EW30 and EI30 in accordance
with the latest European curtain wall standard EN 1364-3, system name: CW60-DRL-EI30.
The largest producible fire-resistant window was used for this, so that storey-high fire-resistant curtain walls are part of the tested options.
- Oskomera Solar Power Solutions has created an innovative PV façade. In 2010, Woningstichting Woonbron built the energy-efficient apartment complex Poptahof in Delft (The Netherlands). One of the energy saving measures that was applied is an innovative solar power wall that generates a portion of the energy required. Oskomera handled the engineering and construction of this solar power wall on the assignment of the main contractor ERA Bouw. This is an extremely flat area of solar panels through the overlapping frames of the laminates. The system is an adaptation of the Just roof integrated solar power system manufactured by Suntech. This system makes it possible to construct extremely flat areas.
- The Oskomera TKI 252 curtain wall system is now also available in a burglary-resistant version. During manual testing by the SKG (Stichting Kwaliteit Gevelbouw) it was shown that ‘burglars’ cannot break in during a contact period of 5 minutes, while the requirement is 3 minutes. This means that the system easily meets class 2 of NEN 5096. The fact that Oskomera also supplies a great deal overseas means that the test is set up in such a way that the conditions for the wk2 classification are met in accordance with ENV1627. It has also been demonstrated that the 262 series, the 60 mm wider alternative for the 252, produces at least an equal performance.
