Sustainable entrepeneurship

Sustainable entrepeneurship

Sustainable entrepeneurship has been an important theme within the Oskomera Group for many years. A specifically pro-active policy is under development in this area. Both internally by means of sustainable entrepreneurship and externally by means of offering sustainability in a balanced package of products and services.

The implementation is based on the correct harmonisation of humans, the environment and economic interests. Oskomera is convinced that the correct balance will produce the best results for the company and society in the longer term. This is why Oskomera is working on integrating the sustainability aspect into its policy and operations. Oskomera feels that it is important that its clients, partners and employees are aware of this policy and the connected aspects in order to create a broad base of support for this vision.

Oskomera offers the market a broad and sustainable of products and services in a pro-active manner. Particularly in the current difficult economic times we see that the market is increasingly purchasing on the basis of sustainability. Striving for the cradle to cradle vision (C2C) vision has become enormously popular in our sector in the last year. C2C actually means – meeting your own needs while also giving future generations more options. The thought process is changing from less bad (sustainable) thinking to good (C2C) thinking.

It is possible for Oskomera to offer clients an excellent quality and sustainable product, partially due to choosing strategic partners that are striving to achieve the same goal as Oskomera. This involves optimum harmonisation of all aspects relating to sustainability.

Alu Eco,jpgOskomera is a member of Alu Eco and Vlakglasrecycling. By singing a covenant, the members of the VMRG and the VAS have declared that, in the case of demolition, they will accept the return of the aluminium that they supplied and add it to the recycling chain.

VlakglasrecyclingThe stichting Vlakglasrecycling (flat glass recycling foundation) promotes the systematic collection and recycling of flat glass waste.

PV cycle

PV CycleOskomera Solar Power Solutions is also a member of PV cycle. PV Cycle was established in July 2007 by the photovoltaic industry in order to flesh out a voluntary return and recycle programme for end-of-life modules. This is how Oskomera works with PV Cycle on the expansion of a general waste and recycling policy into an economically and ecologically sustainable system.

Dutch Green Building Council

LOGO PARTICIPANTOskomera also participates in the Dutch Green Building Council. A number of employees have followed the BREEAM-Expert course in order to really be able to work with the BREEAM-NL method. This method makes it possible to gain insight into the environmental performance of projects during the design phase.

 Orphan girls

Internationally we also contribute to a better world. Oskomera is supporting a class of 40 orphan girls in Kenya for a period of four years in cooperation with the  Verkaart Development Team . The effort of Verkaart and our support makes it possible that our orphan girls do their exams at the end of 2011 after an eduacation of four years. This is the beginning of a better future. From 2012 Oskomera again supports a class of orphan girls for a period of 4 years.
