On the flat roof of the Genk city hall of Belgium, Oskomera has installed a 239 kWp solar photovoltaic system generating clean electricity for the municipality of Genk. The system consist out of 1,260 high efficient STP19018U/b solar modules manufactured by Suntech Power Holding Ltd. These modules are mounted on ballasted LIGHTBOX® aluminum mounting systems and are connected into series onto SMA SMC6000 TL inverters. The inverters are connected to the grid via a three phase mains interconnection point. The system is being owned by Dexia Lease Belgium. The Municipality of Genk has a 20 year period lease contract with Dexia for the solar system, utilizing the generated clean electricity. The payment terms of this contract are adjusted to the characteristics of the solar system. During the summer the height of the monthly installments will be higher than during the winter period. This unique financing product enables governments to finance their investments in renewable energy off balance and at attractive terms and conditions. Oskomera also executes the service and maintenance activities of the solar system, using the features of the installed remote monitoring system.
